§ 18-01-050. Warrant fee.

  • Any person who fails to appear in the municipal court after having agreed to do so by signing an appearance on a uniform traffic citation or who fails to appear in response to a summons of the court may be compelled to appear in the municipal court by the issuance of a warrant to be served by either a law-enforcement officer or other authorized person.

    Persons who are brought before the court due to the issuance of an arrest warrant shall, in addition to any other fees or fines imposed by the court pay a one hundred dollar ($100.00) warrant fee. Proceeds from the warrant fee shall be distributed as follows: one-half (½) of the funds shall go to the municipal court and one-half (½) of the funds shall go to the department of public safety to defray the costs associated with processing and serving warrants for failing to appear in the court.
