§ 24-12-6-1.5. Minimum speed regulation.

  • A.

    No person shall drive a motor vehicle at such slow speed as to impede the normal and reasonable movement of traffic except when reduced speed is necessary for safe operation or in compliance with this ordinance.

    B.

    Whenever the administrator determines on the basis of an engineering and traffic investigation that slow speeds on any part of a street consistently impede the normal and reasonable movement of traffic, the administrator may determine and declare a minimum speed limit below which no person shall drive a vehicle except when necessary for safe operation or in compliance with this ordinance.

    C.

    Police officers may enforce this section by directions to drivers. In the event of apparent willful disobedience to this section and refusal to comply with directions of an officer in accordance herewith, the continued slow operation by a driver is a violation of this section.(*)
