§ 28-04-040. Bonito Lake.

  • (a)

    The city reservoir known as Bonito Lake may be used for the public recreational activities of camping, picnicking, fishing, sightseeing and hiking. The city manager is hereby authorized to set admission fees for public users of the Bonito Lake Facilities. Any changes in the admission fees must be approved by the city commission before becoming effective.

    (b)

    The following are prohibited on Bonito Lake and the city owned property adjacent to it:

    (1)

    Picnicking and camping outside areas specifically designated for those purposes;

    (2)

    Fishing from other than the banks of the lake and other specifically designated areas;

    (3)

    Wading, swimming, bathing or washing in Bonito Lake;

    (4)

    Littering;

    (5)

    The use of any boat or other watercraft on the lake;

    (6)

    Hunting or discharge of any firearms;

    (7)

    Permitting the trespass of any livestock into the lake;

    (8)

    Driving of any vehicle in any area other than regularly maintained roads and access ways to camp sites, except where specifically authorized by the city manager or his designated agent;

    (9)

    Any other act which tends to pollute, contaminate or render impure or unwholesome any of the waters of Bonito Lake.
