§ 2-07-010. Definitions.

  • For the purpose of this article, the following terms, phrases, words and their derivations shall have the meaning given herein:

    Annexation plat means a map which shall show the external boundary of the territory proposed to be annexed plus any streets located along the boundary of the territory proposed to be annexed and the relationship of the territory proposed to be annexed to the existing boundary of the City of Alamogordo.

    NMSA means New Mexico Statutes Annotated.

    Petition means a petition for annexation signed by the owners of a majority of the number of acres in the contiguous territory proposed to be annexed.

    Petitioner means any person, or group of persons, firm, partnership, association, corporation, company or organization of any kind filing a petition for annexation to the city.

    Planning commission means the planning and zoning commission of the city.

    Street means any thoroughfare that is open to the public and has been accepted by the Otero County Commission as a public right-of-way.

    Territory means the contiguous territory proposed for annexation to the city.
