§ 2-13-190. Recycled products preference.

The central purchasing office shall, whenever possible, purchase recycled goods the composition of which makes them a "recycled product" as defined by federal regulation. A purchasing preference may be extended to vendors for recycled items, however, this preference shall apply only to those recycled items within a bid. This preference shall not exceed five (5) percent.

This section shall not apply when the expenditure involves federal funds and the grant of such funds prohibits the application of this preference or establishes a higher preference. In such case, prevailing federal guidelines will be followed.
