§ 32-03-030. Authority of the city to return unclaimed personal property to the finder.

  • (a)

    Whenever any unclaimed personal property which a finder has left with the city has been unclaimed by the true owner and has been in the possession of the city for more than ninety (90) days, the city shall send written notification to the finder. The notification will indicate that the finder may take possession of the property if it is claimed within thirty (30) days of the date on the written notification. The notification shall indicate where the property may be claimed.

    (b)

    If personal property is not claimed by the true owner or the finder, as provided in this article, it may be disposed of as provided for in statutes.
