§ 4-06-030. Starting or running of aircraft engines.

  • (a)

    Aircraft engine run-ups exceeding five (5) minutes duration will be accomplished in the holding area located on the east end of the main taxiway.

    (b)

    Aircraft in excess of twelve thousand five hundred (12,500) pounds will not perform engine run-ups in excess of two thousand (2,000) revolutions per minute except at the run-up areas at each end of the runway.

    (c)

    Large aircraft will be parked for engine start and run-up in such a manner that jet blast or prop blast toward vehicles, aircraft or buildings will not be caused.

    (d)

    No aircraft engine shall be started or operated in any manner unless a licensed pilot or mechanic is at the controls.

    (e)

    Any aircraft not equipped with locking brakes shall have the wheels adequately blocked before starting any engine.

    (f)

    No aircraft engine shall be operated in any hangar.
