§ 8-01-130. Same—Certificate of insurance or bond.

  • Before any permit shall be granted to any person to move or transport any building or structure within the city limits he shall first furnish a bond or certificate of insurance acceptable to the city manager in favor of the city in the sum of not less than ten thousand dollars ($10,000.00) nor more than fifty thousand dollars ($50,000.00), as determined by the city manager, upon the basis of the size and weight of such building and the possible damages to the city and its residents. Such bond or insurance shall be for the protection of the city, its citizens, and all public utilities against any damage caused in the moving of the building or other structure and shall be conditioned upon compliance with all ordinances and regulations relative to the moving of buildings. No permit for the moving or transporting of any building or structure shall be issued until a bond or certificate of insurance in an amount within the above limits has been approved by the city manager and is on file with the city clerk.
