§ 8-07-015. Definitions.

  • Unless the context clearly indicates otherwise, the words used in this Chapter shall have the meaning given in this section:

    Abutting property includes all property having a frontage upon the margin of any street or other public place.

    Interested parties means a property owner, resident, tenant, or person in possession or in control of the property.

    Notice means any method of communication reasonably calculated to inform interested parties that a violation of ordinance is observed and includes, but is not limited to: in-person notification, posting a notice on property and notification via U.S. Mail.

    Property owners mean the record holder of legal title as shown by the official records of the County of Otero unless there exists a contract purchaser of record, in which case it means the contract purchaser.

    Sidewalk includes any structure or form of street improvement in the space between the street margin and the roadway, known as the sidewalk area.

    Street includes any boulevard, avenue, street, alley, way, lane, square, or place.
