§ 8-08-120. Existing backflow prevention assemblies.

Latest version.
  • Any existing backflow prevention assemblies are to be approved to continue service unless a higher degree of protection is required. In premises where the hazard has increased, as in the case of a change of occupancy, any existing backflow prevention assembly(s) shall be upgraded to comply with this article, or in the event that no assemblies are present, any premises where the building code division has determined that a real or potential health hazard or system hazard exists shall be brought into compliance with this article. Any existing backflow prevention assemblies that are not on the current list of approved backflow prevention assemblies may be approved to continue in service provided that the assemblies can be maintained, tested and that repair parts are available through the manufacturer. Whenever obsolete assemblies are replaced, they shall be replaced with current approved backflow prevention assemblies.
