§ 18-02-080. Appointment of temporary municipal judge.
In anticipation of the temporary incapacity or absence of the municipal judge, the municipal judge may appoint up to two (2) duly qualified residents of Alamogordo, Otero County, New Mexico, to act as temporary judge in his place and stead. The persons so appointed shall be subject to being confirmed by the city commission. Temporary municipal judges shall be paid seventy-five dollars ($ 75.00) for each day served, which sum is to be paid out of the general fund of the city, up to forty (40) days per calendar year. The aggregate pay for temporary municipal judges in excess of forty (40) days per calendar year shall be paid by the municipal judge.
