§ 2-07-030. Annexation by Petition.

(a)

Submission Requirements. The petitioner is required to submit the following to the Planning Commission by the published deadline for the submission of materials for the meeting at which the item is to be considered:

(1)

Completed annexation petition;

(2)

Applicable fee as adopted by the City Commission; and

(3)

Signed annexation plat, original mylar and ten (10) copies, which meets all requirements of NMSA 1978 , as amended, on sheets twenty-four inches by thirty-six inches (24"x36") at a scale of one hundred feet (100') to one inch (1") or larger.

(b)

Procedure . Upon receipt of all required materials, the item shall be forwarded to the Planning Commission which will make a recommendation to the City Commission for approval or denial of the proposed annexation. Upon receipt of the recommendation from the Planning Commission, the City Commission shall act upon the petition and ordinance for annexation in accordance with NMSA 1978, as amended.
