  • The Alamogordo-White Sands Regional Airport shall be administered by the city manager. The city manager may assume the title of airport manager or delegate the title and responsibilities of the airport manager to any city employee of his choosing. The city manager may retain direct supervision of the airport or may, at his discretion, assign supervision of the airport to a city department or division of his choosing.

    (a)

    The airport manager is authorized by the city manager to issue municipal citations, for violations of ordinances and requirements contained in Articles III, IV, V and VI of Chapter 4. Persons cited will be subject to the process of municipal court. Penalties for violations shall be as set forth in section 1-01-100 of the Alamogordo Municipal Code but shall not affect other legal remedies available to the parties.

    (b)

    The airport manager shall monitor compliance by users of the airport with laws, rules and regulations of the City of Alamogordo, State of New Mexico and the United States Government, including the Federal Aviation Administration. The manager shall report infractions that come to his attention to the appropriate agency and may, at his discretion, initiate corrective action through lawful available means.
