§ 2-03-020. Generally—Conflict of interest.

  • Any city employee who has any substantial financial interest, direct or indirect, in any corporation, firm or person contracting business with the city in the sale of land, material, supplies or services to the city shall make known that interest in writing to the city manager and shall refrain from voting or otherwise participating in the making of such a contract or sale. Any city employee who wilfully conceals such financial interest or wilfully violates the requirements of this section shall be guilty of malfeasance of office or position and shall be subject to disciplinary action. Violation of this section with the knowledge, express or implied, of the person or corporation contracting with or making sale to the city shall render the contract voidable by the city.
